Essential oils for treating athlete’s foot, one of the most common forms of fungal infections on the feet. This highly contagious infection develops on the top outer layer of skin on the foot. 1. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree has antiseptic action, as well as fungicidal features that can greatly help you in the treatment of fungal infections. Add a few drops of this essential oil on a clean cotton pad and apply it on the infected area for 10 minutes. Before applying the tea tree oil, you can massage your feet with a mixture of equal amounts of olive oil and frankincense oil. 2. Peppermint Essential Oil

This essential oil contains menthol, which will help you relieve the inflammation that causes the athlete’s foot infection. To use it, mix a teaspoon of peppermint oil with a half cup of rolled oats and ¼ cup of sea salt. Massage into the feet twice daily to help add comfort to your feet while the condition heals.

3. Orange Essential Oil

Orange oil also has antimicrobial properties and you can also use it to treat fungal infections on the feet. Using tweezers, you can drop pure orange oil on the affected spots and let it stand for an hour, then rinse it well with warm water. Because this essential oil can cause you an allergic reaction or unwanted consequences on the skin, first apply a very small amount on your hand and wait to see how it will react.

4. Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender oil is a natural antiseptic that you can use for all kinds of infections and to prevent skin irritation. Mix an equal amount of lavender essential oil and olive oil and slightly heat the mixture. Apply the mixture using a cotton pad on the athlete’s foot infection. It is advisable to apply the oil before going to bed and wear thick socks to increase the effectiveness.

5. Oregano Essential Oil

Oregano oil has an antiseptic, antibacterial, ant parasitic, antiviral, analgesic and antimicrobial effect. Mix one or two drops of oregano oil with one tablespoon of olive oil. Oregano oil is very strong and must not be used undissolved. Apply the mixture on the infected areas at least once a day. To achieve positive results, you need to do this procedure every day for three weeks.

6. Eucalyptus Oil

This essential oil has strong antibacterial properties and can help you to hydrate and replenish your skin while also fighting against athlete’s foot. To use it, mix one teaspoon with two cups of water into a spray bottle. Then, spray onto the feet and also spray in your shoes to help keep them sanitary.
